The Brood: If you don't like it, blame Evan!

The Brood:

Alright. This was the inaugural flick pick, just kind of a spur of the moment thing. I really, really did not want to watch this movie. If you know me, you probably get that it's not really in keeping with my usual interests. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't think it was a good movie or anything, but it was an entertaining 92 minutes. It wasn't too too gory and it just had this weird 70s/Canadian vibe which as you can imagine is pretty chilling. I might have seen it before Evan picked it, but I just wasn't looking for anything that small.

  1. It was certainly entertaining. Also I'm not sure how I feel about referring to the movie as "an entertaining 92 minutes" as though you could sense the length of the movie in your entertainment and didn't, say IMDB it to get the runtime. In any event, this managed to avoid offending my delicate sensibilities for the most part, or at least it didn't quite outpace my ability not to be completely disgusted.

When Evan described the plot, I pictured the kids as being something less human-looking. Also less lion-looking.

Let's see; the doctor was remarkably creepy/slimy. He was just far too smooth, and his voice definitely rubbed me the wrong way (which are presumably intentional.

I'm not sure if I have anything else to say. I almost said "anything else interesting," but that would be a mite presumptuous.

  2. Now somebody needs to pick Dead Ringers. If I was a pictator today, I could do some real damage.
